Aberlady Bay Beach

East Lothian, Scotland

A sandy beach situated within the Aberlady Bay Nature Reserve. The bay contains sand dunes, salt marshes and mud flats which form a habitat for an abundance of wildlife, with the site being particularly popular with birdwatchers. Dogs are not permitted. The wrecks of two midget submarines can be seen at low tide. Though visitors should be cautious of venturing too far out as it's possible to get cut off by the fast incoming tide.
