Castlerock beach is a popular seaside resort located on the north coast of Northern Ireland. It is readily accessible on foot with improved boardwalks through the dunes to connect the promenade and the beach. The beach is approx. 1km and composed entirely of sand. The town of Coleraine is located to the south of the bathing area, with the River Bann flowing through it. The beach backs onto a sand dune system, with a golf course and a private caravan park on the eastern side and a promenade area on the western side. The dunes have been dated as some of the oldest in Ireland. The beach and dunes are designated as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and an Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI). It also falls within the Binevenagh Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Water quality is classified as "Excellent" based on samples taken from the previous 4 years, 2021 through to 2024.
