The beach is situated within Cardigan Bay, just north of Aberystwyth. A sand and shingle, westerly facing beach measuring approximately 500 metres wide and sheltered by steep shale cliffs on either side. The designated sample point lies at the southern end of the beach.
Water quality is classified as "Good" based on samples taken from the previous 4 years, 2021 through to 2024.
