Dunbar (Belhaven) beach is located to the west of the town of Dunbar and forms part of John Muir Country Park. The designated area is approximately 1.3 km long and extends northwest from Belhaven Bay to about half way down the beach and is bordered by sand dunes. The beach is popular throughout the year with wind and wave enthusiasts (particularly windsurfers), walkers and picnickers.
Water quality is classified as "Sufficient" based on samples taken from the previous 4 years, 2021 through to 2024.
