Garrylucas beach is a gently sloping, sandy beach which is flanked on both sides by rocky cliffs. The beach is a south west facing beach and is quite open to rough weather and rough seas. Garrylucas beach has sand dunes to the north and Garrylucas Marsh proposed Natural Heritage Area (pNHA 000087) is located north of the dunes. The beach is used to some extent by anglers, walkers, surfers and windsurfers.

Water quality is classified as "Excellent" based on samples taken from the previous 4 years, 2021 through to 2024.
