At low tide a large area of the beach is exposed and the water’s edge can be some distance away. The beach is backed by clay cliffs to the north and chalk cliffs to the south. A caravan park is situated behind the cliff top.
Water quality is classified as "Excellent" based on samples taken from the previous 4 years, 2021 through to 2024.
