Spurn Head Beach

East Yorkshire, England

Spurn Head (or Spurn Point) is the southernmost tip of the Spurn Nature Reserve, a sand and shingle spit that forms the north bank of the mouth of the Humber Estuary. Spurn is owned by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and is part of the Humber Flats, Marshes and Coast Special Protection Area. The end of the peninsula is cut off by the sea at high tide and dangerous tidal currents make the area unsuitable for swimming.
