Staithes Beach is a small rural beach situated on the Yorkshire coast at the northern edge of the North York Moors. The sandy beach is 100 metres in length and is protected by a harbour wall. The beach is backed by a promenade, tourist establishments, houses and holiday cottages, which are tightly packed on the cliffs. Staithes has been declassified as a bathing water due to consistently failing to meet minimal water quality standards. Swimming is therefore not advised.
